Have FunWelcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  This is an exciting time for your child, although he/she may be a little apprehensive about going to kindergarten.  This is also a time of mixed emotions for parents—joy that your child is ready for school, but sadness because he/she is no longer a “baby”!  The beginning of school will mark one of the most important milestones in your child’s life.

I will do my best to make this school year an enjoyable time for your child, but  also a time filled with real learning,. Please do not think that your child will be just “playing” all day.  All the skills we will practice daily in kindergarten are the building blocks for your child’s future success in school and throughout life!  I enjoy teaching through a hands on approach so that all students are successful daily.  I want my students to have the same love that I do for learning and teaching by giving them meaningful experiences.

The support and encouragement that you provide your child are essential.  Communication between school and home promotes success.  I will be sending home monthly newsletters, calendars, and notices to keep you informed of special events and instructional content.  If you have any concerns, you may write me a note or call the school at 388-2321.  I am available to speak/meet with you  before or after school.

Just a little about myself.  I have been in education for 28 years and have taught students in many grade levels.  This is my ninth year at Nadaburg.  I taught 14 years in kindergarten and 2 years in first grade.  I am married and have two children, Cody and Madicyn.  Cody is a senior in high school and Madicyn will be going into seventh grade.  I have two wonderful dogs, Smokey and Bandit.

I am looking forward to a great year with you and your child!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Band
